Matt is an Accountant with over 30 years’ experience in finance and accounting gained through several roles in both practice and industry.
As Finance Principal Matt has responsibility for all financial governance and reporting of the Group and oversees all aspects of the Group finance function.

Matt is an Accountant with over 30 years’ experience in finance and accounting gained through several roles in both practice and industry. Having trained at a smaller practice Matt originally joined Hillier Hopkins in 2001 working for five years as an Audit Manager before making the move into the Financial Services industry – first as a Fund Administrator for Calculus Capital (an EIS and VCT fund manager) and subsequently as Financial Controller (and for a period Compliance Officer) for Spreadex Limited, a spread betting provider.
Matt returned to Hillier Hopkins in March 2022 as Finance Director and in April 2024 was promoted to Finance Principal. As Principal he reports into the partnership Board of Management providing essential financial metrics for executive decision making and has played a key role in the organic and acquisition growth of the business in the last two years.
