As a firm we are determined to reduce our environmental impact and do our bit to make the world of tomorrow cleaner and greener however we can. We know environmental responsibility matters to our principals, our team members and our clients and we are committed to making a positive impact in all three of our office locations.
Our environmental goals and objectives are being developed in consultation with team members across all three of our office locations, giving all our staff a chance to have their say on what matters to them environmentally. By gathering ideas and opinions from team members across our firm we can develop a strong commitment that can make a difference to the planet and for the planet and that our staff can be proud of.
To begin our journey towards sustainability we have externally assessed our procedures and culture to highlight areas where environmental improvements could be made. A vital part of this process has been engaging with team members to learn from those who know us best where we can improve, how we can better communicate our efforts internally and what motivates our team to do more for the planet.
We are now combining an environmental assessment with the ideas and experiences of our team members and developing an environmental policy that represents us as a firm. Our policy details the areas we are looking to tackle in the immediate future and acts as a central pillar to continue to build our environment ethos around. Making a positive impact on the local area has always been a part of our CSR commitments at Hillier Hopkins and our policy will outline how we will extend this to help benefit our local environment. Hillier Hopkins LLP invests heavily in staff training and has held the “Investor in People” (IIP) accreditation since 1996. We were one of the first accountancy firms in Hertfordshire to be awarded the IIP accreditation and now hold a Silver Accreditation.
As well as Hillier Hopkins’ engagement with external partners and groups, we also engage heavily with local charities and fundraising events. Most recently, we have supported charities doing incredible work in the local area such as: The Pepper Foundation, Watford Workshop and Herts Young Homeless.
