Hillier Hopkins is pleased to see innovative customs platform DutyDeclared launch officially at Multimodal 2026, following advisory support from the firm during the platform’s development.
Working closely with the DutyDeclared team, Ruth Corkin, our international trade expert, helped shape the platform so it responds to the customs and compliance challenges businesses face when trading internationally.
Customs administration can be time-consuming, technical and vulnerable to error. For importers, exporters, freight forwarders and logistics providers, delays or inaccuracies can create significant operational and financial pressure. The DutyDeclared platform uses AI-powered tools to support tariff navigation, automate tax calculations and streamline declaration submissions, helping businesses reduce manual effort and improve accuracy across the customs process.
Ruth Corkin said:
“It’s been a great example of what can be achieved when advisory expertise and technology development come together. By sharing our experience of working with clients on customs and VAT challenges, we’ve helped shape a platform that is designed to simplify complexity and support better decision-making across international trade.”
DutyDeclared has already received industry recognition, including from HMRC and a Tolley’s Taxation Award for innovation in technology. Its official launch will be at Multimodal, one of the UK’s leading supply chain and logistics events. Ruth is speaking at the event on 30 June and will be leading a live demonstration of the platform in action.
As customs rules continue to evolve, the role of technology in reducing risk and improving efficiency is only likely to grow. For businesses moving goods across borders, developments like this are a reminder that the right systems and the right advice can make compliance far more manageable.
