On Friday 12th May 2017 Hillier Hopkins hosted a charity lunch at Watford Football Club in support of our 2017 chosen charity Waverley Driving Group.
Guests were treated to a prosecco reception, a delicious three course lunch and comedy from the hilarious Lee Lard, as well as a raffle and auction. We also had a special guest in attendance, Judge Rob Rinder of TV fame, who gave a very moving speech.
Waverley Driving Group are a local group of the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), who give disabled people the opportunity to carriage drive to benefit their health & wellbeing.
We had lots of prizes very kindly donated in the auction & raffle including VIP tickets to the 2018 National Television Awards, VIP hospitality at The York Races and a spa evening for two at Champney’s Tring.
We are very happy to announce that through the lunch and a golf day we have raised a total of £10,510 for the charity!
Director of the charity Maureen Keegan said the following: “On behalf of Waverley Driving Group I’d like to thank you so much for the superb event you hosted for our benefit last Friday. I can’t begin to say how much the proceeds will mean to the Group, we have never before had such an amazing opportunity to take the Group forward. It will mean so much to so many people.”
