With the announcement of a third national lockdown, has come the news that schools will close and children will have to learn through home-schooling again, unless vulnerable. For many parents, unless working from home already, this may create childcare issues. Many employers and employees are unaware that they can now furlough their staff if caring responsibilities arising from Coronavirus (COVID-19) mean they are unable to work (including from home) or have to work reduced hours. This includes caring for children who are at home as a result of school or childcare facilities closing.

To find out if you (as an employee) or your staff (if an employer) are eligible, and how much can be claimed on furlough because of coronavirus, take a look at the gov.uk webpages for full details. We are here to help so get in touch with us if you have queries on 0330 024 3200 or hi@hhllp.co.uk.
