We are delighted to announce that we have chosen The Oli Mills Foundation as our sponsored charity for 2019.
The Oli Mills Foundation (OMF) is a collection of friends, family, businesses, schools and sports clubs who have come together to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust in memory of St Albans lad, Oli Mills, who died of a brain tumour just 18 years old in 2005.
Since 2016, they have raised £144,000, bringing their overall total to £255,000. This year money has been raised for the Education & Awareness appeal and specifically the ‘Mates Matter’ campaign – a crucial initiative that sees friends and teachers of teenage cancer patients educated on their treatment journey, so they are best placed to support.
The OMF aims to raise £1 million for Teenage Cancer Trust as they continue to raise money and awareness for such a great cause. With only 1 in 2 teenagers with cancer currently able to access Teenage Cancer Trust services, there is still a huge amount of work to be done.
We are in the process of planning our annual charity lunch for 2019 to raise money for The OMF, further details for this will be available soon.
