Contact your bank with your payment reference and the following:

Sort Code: 08 32 10
Account Number: 12001136
Account Name: HMRC Inheritance Tax
Reference: Your Inheritance Tax number

  1. At your bank or building society 

Complete one of your bank’s paying in slips with the following HMRC bank account details:

Sort Code: 25 61 21
Account Number: 63495590
Account Name: HM Revenue & Customs Inheritance Tax

Make your cheque payable to ‘HM Revenue & Customs only’, followed by the name of the deceased and your Inheritance Tax payment reference number.

Make your check payable to ‘HM Revenue & Customs only’ and write the name of the deceased and your Inheritance Tax payment reference number on the back of the cheque.

Send your payslip with your cheque to:

Cheque Banking Team
CAT 1, Room B1-25/26
St Mungo’s Rd
G67 1YZ

Do not fold your payslip and cheque, or fasten them together.

Allow 3 working days for the payment to reach HMRC.
