Watford Borough Council has announced the latest round of funding for local community projects, starting from 2 June 2025

The Neighbourhood Grant aims to support initiatives that enhance the town’s well-being. This annual funding, sourced from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) paid by developers on new housing projects, is managed by the council. Its goal is to mitigate the impact of new developments and ensure sustainable growth benefits the local community.

Last year’s programme was highly successful, with 20 outstanding projects receiving a share of the £300,000 funding. These projects covered diverse areas such as environmental conservation, youth empowerment, arts and culture, sports development, and social welfare.

This year, applications are open from 2 June to 29 August. Applicants can request up to £5,000 for new or additional activities and up to £50,000 for physical infrastructure projects. All applications will be thoroughly evaluated to ensure they meet the criteria.
