Louise joined our firm in 2010 after graduating with a First Class degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems from the University of Hertfordshire. She also works extensively with clients in our charity and education unit.
Over the years, she has demonstrated exceptional dedication and expertise, making significant contributions to our team and clients. We are delighted to announce that Louise has been promoted to Principal at Hillier Hopkins.
How would you describe your journey at Hillier Hopkins?
Having joined with no knowledge of accountancy I have completed my qualification with Hillier Hopkins and then developed through the manager ranks to be a key part of the audit team which has grown significantly over the years.
What excites you the most about your new role as principal?
I am excited to have been given this fantastic opportunity as it will enable me to be part of the strategic decisions made by the firm that helps us grow and develop further.
How have you developed your skills over your time at HH?
I have developed all of my skills through listening, asking questions and observing the more experienced colleagues and partners.
What would you say are your key strengths?
I have specialisms in audit for academies, solicitors accounts rules as well as general corporate audit work.
What advice would you give others who are trying to climb the ladder or those who are starting out?
They key is to make sure you understand why you are doing what you have been asked to do, rather than just doing it.
What challenges do you anticipate within this new role?
I expect the transition from managing audits to being the RI will take some getting used to as this requires more delegation.
What do you hope to accomplish in this new role in the next 3-6 months?
I hope to have started to build up a small portfolio of clients of my own.
