For more than 90 years, Hillier Hopkins has stood by a simple yet powerful principle: Do the right thing. In a world facing increasingly complex environmental and social challenges, this ethos has never been more relevant or more urgent.
Doing the right thing….. together!
The 2024/25 Sustainability Impact Report is a testament to our unwavering commitment to building a better future. From our roots as a community focused accountancy firm to our current role as the UK member of the global TGS network, we’ve evolved with purpose. This year’s report showcases how sustainability is no longer a side initiative, but is embedded in everything we do.
A year of progress
We’ve made strides across all five pillars of sustainability: Clients, Workers, Community, Environment, and Governance. We have also begun our journey to achieving BCorp certification. Highlights include:
- Clients – We doubled our client updates, launched a Quarterly Tax Update, and embedded sustainability into audit communications.
- Workers – Our staff engagement scores exceeded industry averages, earning us a spot in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 202.
- Community – We raised £29,000 for charity, delivered free accountancy training to small charities, and logged 142 volunteer hours.
- Environment – We measured Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions, recycled 106 electronic items, and planted 368 trees through our partnership with Fruitful Office.
- Governance – Sustainability is now part of board-level discussions, supported by external assessments and transparent reporting.
Looking Ahead
As we move forward, we will focus on deepening our impact, strengthening our partnerships and leading by example. We’re developing a carbon reduction plan, expanding our community engagement, and enhancing transparency across all areas of our business.
This report is not just a summary of our actions, it’s a reflection of our people, our values and our vision for a sustainable future. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved, and even more excited about what’s to come.
