This role requires a high-quality finance professional with a strong academic background who can demonstrate technical accounting knowledge, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will report directly to the Finance Principal and ultimately be responsible for the accounting operations of the business.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified with experience preferably gained in a professional practice.
  • Interpreting, analysing and presenting data in an accurate and commercial manner.
  • Ability to multi-task, to be a strategic thinker and an effective communicator.
  • Strong technical ability.
  • Significant managerial experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to liaise across multiple disciplines internally and externally to the firm.
  • Confident in driving change and leading from the front.
  • Expense management software experience.

Principally the duties you will carry out are:

  • Producing timely and reliable monthly management information reports for the Finance Principal and the board of management, investigating variances against budgets and providing analysis of differences.
  • Preparing annual budgets, half year and quarterly forecasts all with commentary on risks / opportunities.
  • Ensuring that all financial targets are met.
  • Supporting the Finance Principal and working together with multiple Principals and teams, as necessary, across the firm in order to deliver solutions.
  • Support the Finance Principal to develop, document and maintain all necessary systems, policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the firm.
  • Carry out all necessary actions to ensure that the firm meets its financial and legal obligations.
  • Two direct reports to manage.

Employment Details

  • Full time role – Monday to Friday.
  • Remuneration will be dependent on experience.
  • Right to Work in the UK required.

The package will include:

  • Auto Enrolment Pension Scheme (Employer: 5%; Employee: 3%) subject to eligibility.
  • Annual Christmas Bonus equivalent to 1 week’s salary.
  • Private Medical Insurance following completion of a 3 month probationary period (this is a taxable benefit).
  • Death In Service scheme cover (4x salary).
  • Group Income Protection Scheme (non-contributory) following completion of a 3 month probationary period.
  • Annual Leave will be 25 days per annum (pro rata). 3 days are normally taken at Christmas/New Year.
